Try before you buy
You wouldn't buy a car before test driving it or buy a house before viewing it so why would you buy a wedding dress with trying it on ? Wedding dress shopping can be overwhelming without the worry of whether or not stores will stock sample dresses in your size so if in doubt of what sizes a shop does stock we advise you to ask before you visit. We've all had a changing room moment (or meltdown), where we’ve ended up hot and flustered trying to squeeze into a dress which won’t budge over our thighs or boobs while all the time turning a deeper shade of red and sweating off our mascara with the effort! Fear not at Opus the only reason for your mascara running will be tears of joy when you find THE DRESS. Our sample dresses range from size 6 to size 26, we also have additional dresses from our designer ranges, including /Maggie Sottero and Enzoani, in sizes 14 to size 30 available for you to try during our Curvy Weekend Event, so there’s no need to resort to throwing shapes in the changing room to attempt to squeeze into a dress.
Don’t be scared of trying different styles
When searching for your dream dress don't be afraid to try something new or a little bit different. It's all too easy to revert to a 'safe' option when dress shopping however this is your chance to try different styles and silhouettes to find what works best for you. The style of dress which looks and feels good on you may surprise you and not be what you expect, shop with an open mind and don't restrict yourself to only trying dresses with sleeves.
It’s the fit not the size that is important
It's all too easy to get caught up in numbers and worry about what 'size' your dress is, firstly, believe us when we say that just like high street stores all wedding dress designers work to different size charts and that the actual size means nothing and secondly, when it comes to wedding dresses it's the fit of the dress that matters, not the size. A dress which fits you properly will make you feel and be beautiful on your wedding day. So how do you find a dress with the perfect fit ? This is where an experienced Opus bridal consultant is your secret weapon as they can advise on the best silhouette for your shape, the best style for your proportions and a flattering fabric that skims rather than clings.
