Built from our passion and the “Opus Values” we offer a unique service at Opus. We take our bride on a journey from picking her gown, through the fitting and alteration service and then onto the preparation of her gown for collection on the week of her wedding. The Opus Experience is part of her wedding preparation and we make sure it is stress free and filled with joy.
For owners Sharon and Stewart, and the team they’ve built since Opus opened in 2003, it starts and ends with customer service. It’s about working with you to make sure that when you walk down the aisle you’re wearing a gown that looks spectacular and you feel confident wearing.

STORY
Sharon McPherson established Opus Couture, based in the lovely village of West Kilbride, in 2003. Sharon has 30 years experience in the Bridal-wear industry and Opus Couture has quickly grown into one of Scotland’s leading names in Bridal Fashion.
Our success has been achieved through quality of service, experience and in-house expertise, which has been recognised by winning the VOWS Industry Award in 2016 and in 2006 and 2010 as Best Bridal Retailer in Scotland, with nominations every year since 2005! Sharon along with the majority of our staff have qualifications in fashion design and pattern cutting enabling us to give expert advice to all our brides, helping them to find the perfect gown.

As a multi-award-winning boutique, we are proud to have been recognised as Bridal Retailer of the Year by renowned bridal designer Wona.Concept. We have also received the VOWS Industry Award for Best Bridal Retailer in Scotland in 2006, 2010, and 2016, further cementing our reputation for outstanding service and expertise. In addition, we are delighted to be Business Excellence Awards Winners, Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Business Award Winners, and Association of Scottish Business Women Team of the Year Finalists, while our Business Manager has been named Professional of the Year.

Owner and designer in Chief
Sharon established Opus Couture in 2003 and has over 30 years experience in the Bridal Wear Industry. Qualified in fashion design and embroidery, Sharon has gifted the Opus team with her expertise and knowledge within the industry. You will find Sharon travelling to and from London where she is an executive member of the Retail Bridalwear Association or creating new designs for her Opus Studio collection - Be Beautiful

Business Manager
Our Business Manager, Susan, has been part of the Opus Couture team for 17 years and oversees everything ‘Opus’. You will find Susan on the shop floor finding our bride’s dream dress or using her years technical skill to customise our brides beautiful gowns or behind the scenes working her ‘Opus Magic’. Susan is an integral part of ensuring Opus runs smoothly. Her years of managerial experience has allowed the salon to become a safe space for our brides and team members.

Shop Floor Manager
Our Shop Floor Manager, Khara, started her journey with Opus Couture when she was just 15 carrying out her work experience and he's been here now for over 19 years! Khara’s infectious energy has all our brides instantly feeling comfortable from the moment they walk through the salon doors. Chances are - Khara already knows your gown before you do! Khara specialises in fitting your gown to perfection, stock inventory and customer contact - Khara will have every answers to all your Opus questions!

Sarah is one of the friendly faces you will meet at Opus and will quickly become your new bridal bestie! Sarah loves attending wedding shows and you may have your first chat with her there, helping you navigate your way through the bridal world. She will safely see you through your New Bride appointment making it stress free and fun!

Pin Fitter and Technical Support
Alison is part of our in-house sewing team and supports in all aspects of bridal wear. Whether it's doing your pin fitting, bead-work or adding the final touch to your wedding dress customisation - Alison is on hand. Alongside this, Alison is responsible for completing your bridal journey and carries out the collection process of your gown. With a clear eye for detail, Alison, will guarantee your gown is perfect for your big day!

Bridal Consultant
You will find Sophie on the shop floor or may recognise her from our Instagram. Sophie started her journey with Opus as our in-house model and we quickly realised we needed her to be part of the team! Sophie is a vital part of the order process and ensures your gown order is placed correctly - lead times, brand contact and any design customisation are Sophie's speciality!

Carolyn is one of our trained in-house pin-fitters and an integral part of our technical team. She oversees your gown from the moment it arrives in store, meticulously quality checking every detail before preparing it for your fittings. You will meet Carolyn during your pin fittings, and she will ensure that your gown moves effortlessly through the collection process. Carolyn’s dedication ensures your dress will be everything you’ve dreamed of.
