Sharon is the owner and lead designer of Opus Couture.
Sharon was born and lived in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland where she studied for her first Degree in Textiles, Fashion and Embroidery at York Street College of Art, Belfast.
When Sharon moved to Birmingham she studied at Gosta Green University for a Masters Degree. Having completed seven years of study, she returned home to Northern Ireland to marry her Scottish husband (Stewart) and settle down.
She has been extremely fortunate to have the honour to dress, not one, but three Ms Northern Irelands for their own special day.
Roma joined the Opus team in Jan 2008 and works full time in Opus Couture.
She has now progressed to the post of joint Assistant Manager and also assists Sharon with buying each year. As our fulltime Design consultant, Roma may well be your first contact. Roma who is a qualified fashion designer with a B.A degree from the school of Textiles, will take you through our sales process, our fitting process, and maybe even our dispatch process.
Roma's personal experience of organising her own wedding in June 2009 has helped her understand the needs of today's brides.
Susan joined the Opus team in Jan 2008 and works 4 days each week.
She has now progressed to the post of joint Assistant Manager and helps with buying each year aswell. She is one of main sales team as one of our trained pattern cutters. Working on the sales floor, Susan will take our brides through the Couture process and when required move over seamlessly to our Occasions store. She is also a fully trained designer with HND in Fashion Technology from Cardonald College.
Brenda has been part of the Opus team since 2006.
Brenda's ability and experience in stitching especially beadwork is second to none. Her attention to detail and being a perfectionist means that each gown gets scrutinised and checked in detail before leaving the shop. This perfectionist attitude has earned her the postition of our head bead mistress. Also a member of our sales staff Brenda pin fits, and even steams gowns for collection. A much-valued member of our team, Brenda joins us every Friday and Saturday.
Khara has been with Opus for seven years as our Saturday support, and now has joined us four days a week as one of our main sales staff.
With seven years experience under her belt, Khara is a major asset too our team and joins us four days a week taking new bride appointments, working on visual display and supporting the rest of the team. Khara has a degree in Retail Management at Caledonain University in Glasgow and is also taking a course in pin fitting this year to add to her C.V. of skills.
Carole joined the Opus team in April 2009.
She is mainly situated over in Opus Occasions making our Mother of the Brides and grooms look stunning, but is also trained to take bridal appointments too and helps in Couture.
Her attention to detail and perfection has come as a massive help to mother of the brides with the result being mothers end up finding outfit, matching hat and accesorise all in one place.
Carole has a City and Guilds of London Institute certificate in clothing craft, an HNC in Clothing construction and pattern cutting and SQC in soft furnishing and Interior finishes.
Cavan is a full time student at Ardrossan Academy.
The subjects she has chosen to study will stand her in good stead for a career in the fashion industry. She hopes to study fashion design and technology in the future. At Opus Cavan supports our sales team and can be found in either Couture or Occasions.
Cavan is also growing her modelling portfolio and models catwalk at the major bridal shows.
